Access Services

The Access Services Department manages Circulation, Course Reserves, and Interlibrary Loan services.

Circulation
Circulation staff assist patrons by checking materials in and out of the library, searching for missing items, recalling borrowed items requested by another patron, ensuring that library materials are shelved in proper order, and answering basic questions about the library.

Course Reserves
Circulation staff also maintain the Course Reserves collection. This includes print, audio-visual, and electronic materials, selected by faculty for use in their classes.

Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan staff borrow materials from other libraries when cadets, faculty, and staff need items which Preston Library does not own. There are no limits and no fees for this service. Requested materials may take one day to two weeks or more to arrive. To initiate a request, log in to the Interlibrary Loan system.
