Colonel L.E. Hurlbut, USAF (Retired), Deputy Commandant for Support
Colonel Hurlbut was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force on 1 August 1975 through the Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps at Detachment 025, Arizona State University. She entered active duty on 1 October 1975 and retired as a colonel on 1 November 2001 after completing 26 years of active duty.
Colonel Hurlbut was born in Plattsburgh, New York. She earned a commercial pilot/instrument/multi-engine rating and an MA from Webster University. She belongs to the Arizona State University Alumni Association, the Military Officers Association of America and the Air Force Association. Colonel Hurlbut is married to John F. Bopp Jr. They have four children - Katherine, Brian, Kristen, and Michael.
