2012-12-19, 1400 hours - Email Server Software Updates
IT staff will be performing necessary routine maintenance tasks to VMI’s Enterprise Messaging Services Infrastructure on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 1200 to 2200 hours. Affected services include dependable access to the VMI on-premise email system via Outlook, Outlook Web Apps (OWA), and Outlook Anywhere. Smart phones using “Active Sync” and BlackBerry devices will also be affected. Automated systems that rely on email for notification purposes may experience irregular interruptions in connectivity and may be unable to send email reliably.
Cadet email will not be affected and should remain fully available during the maintenance period.
During the maintenance window, email access will become intermittent and cannot be guaranteed. End-users should plan ahead to minimize the negative impact. Email delivery may be delayed by several hours even after the maintenance is complete.
Other systems affected periodically throughout this timeframe will be Angel and Citrix applications (remote.vmi.edu).
