VMI Ornithologist on With Good Reason
LEXINGTON, Va., Aug. 31, 2012 – VMI biology professor Col. Dick Rowe will talk about the effects of droughts across America on native bird populations this week on Public Radio’s With Good Reason. In the show, “Not Just for the Birds,” Rowe will discuss the increase on the East Coast of bird species normally found in the Midwest.
Also on the show will be John Swaddle of the College of William and Mary, who will talk about increasing the diversity of birds as a strategy for curtailing West Nile disease, and Ann and Rob Simpson of Lord FaiVMI Ornithologist on With Good Reasonrfax Community College, biologists and professional wildlife photographers whose books on the national parks promote ecological use of natural habitats and environmental stewardship.
